18 Trophies of Brazil

The Team of Brazil have won eighteen trophies by including five World Cups and from the South side of American giants have produced some of the professional greatest players of all time. Their rich football culture has ensured the team has always had the best players. The Selecao first achieved success at the 1919 edition of the Copa America. Over the next 102 years, they won the competition nine times. The last triumph of the competition dates back to 2019. In 1958, Brazil won the World Cup for the first time, beating Sweden 5-2 in the final. Their fifth and final win of the season came in 2002 when they beat Germany 2-0 thanks to a second half goal from Ronaldo Nazario.

Argentina won its first international title in the 1921 edition of the Copa America. Mario Kempes has scored six goals this season as Argentina lifted the trophy on home soil.

17 Uruguay

Uruguay have won 17 trophies so far and only one will come this century. La Celeste was a dominant force in the early days of international football. They won the first FIFA World Cup as hosts in 1930 and won it again in 1950. The other 15 trophies came at the Copa America, where they won a record 15 times.They were champions in the first continental competition in 1916. Uruguay have won just one race in the 21st century. This victory came during the 2011 edition of the Copa America. Goals from Luis Suarez and Diego Forlan secured a comfortable 3-0 win over Paraguay in the final.

Mexico has traditionally been the biggest name in CONCACAF football with 12 trophies to their credit, they are the most successful team in the Confederacy. They have won 11 CONCACAF (now renamed Gold Cup) championships. They are the only team from the Confederation to have won a major FIFA Cup, beating Brazil in the 1999 Confederations Cup final. El Tri reached two finals in 2021 but were beaten each time by bitter rivals USA. They do, however, hope to make it to next year's FIFA World Cup for the eighth consecutive time.

This is the most successful team of the locality of Germany which stands in the top five. The team has won eight trophies so far all in major competitions. The team of Germany have won the FIFA World Cup more than three times with most recently in the year of 2014. They have also won the European Championship three times between 1972 and 1996 and won the Confederations Cup in 2017.They were runners-up at three FIFA World Cups (1982, 1986, 2002) and broke the last four records 13 times.

USA is on our list for winning 2 trophies in 2021. The North American team has proven to be the best team in CONCACAF in recent years, with some very talented young players in their ranks. They have won seven titles so far. All but one have appeared in the 21st century. They have won the prestigious CONCACAF Gold Cup six times, including a triumph against Mexico this summer. They were also winners of the first CONCACAF Nations League. They defeated Mexico in the final, with Christian Pulisic scoring the winner in extra time.

Italy is the first European national team on our list with six trophies. This summer's success at EURO 2020 marked the sixth major international honor, the first since the 2006 FIFA World Cup. They achieved their first international success at the 1934 FIFA World Cup, where they defeated the Czech Republic (then Czechoslovakia). They won again in 1938, defeating Hungary in another pan-European final. For a nation with such a rich history of football, six trophies at international level seem a bit small. However, they became world champions twice at FIFA with the years mentioned as in 1970, 1994 and EURO in 2000, 2012.

Cameroon has had some success in international competitions. Despite appearing in more World Cup finals than any other African team, they only made it through the group stage once. They are part of our prize list with five trophies. They are all victories at the Africa Cup. They were successful in this competition for the first time in 1984, beating Nigeria in the final. Their last win in the competition was in 2017. They are one of two African teams to win a gold medal at the Olympics. They defeated Spain on penalties at the Sydney 2000 Olympics. Australia and New Zealand have also won five trophies, but most of these come from the Nations Cup.
