Named after footballer and legendary Real Madrid president Santiago Bernabeu (1895 to 1978), the stadium is one of the most famous football stadiums in the world. The stadium is home to League team Gokulam Kerala FC and Indian Women's League team Gokulam Kerala FC (women). Built in 1977, the stadium has a capacity of 50,000 spectators. Named after communist leader E.MS Namboodiripad who was the first Prime Minister of Kerala.
